About Lara

Lara Parks writes literary fiction that explores the quiet, complicated corners of human experience. Drawn to stories about identity, longing, and the lives we build around our secrets, her work blends lyrical prose with deeply felt characters.

Her debut novel is forthcoming. She lives somewhere between the first draft and the final word.

A person with dark green painted nails writing in a spiral notebook with a black pen at a desk. They are wearing a sleeve of a dark ribbed sweater and a wristwatch. In the background, there is a cup and a stack of papers or books on a desk, with sunlight coming through a window.
A close-up of five old, worn books lined up vertically on a wooden surface, tied together with a piece of twine. The books have faded covers with visible text and decorative designs, and a pink carnation flower is tucked between the third and fourth books.

Driven by passion

What do you love most about stories?

Is it the reflection of yourself staring back through the pages?

Is it being immersed in fantasy of another life imagined?

Or is it just the enjoyment of a stroll through someone else’s imagination?

My best stories, I get through my dreams. New characters, new scenes, new scenarios generated in 3D Dolby Digital film playing in my mind as my neurons attempt to sort through the daily chatter.

Most of the time their snippets. Some of the times they’re shows. Sometimes they’re good.

Come along with me while I tell my tales.
